You should consult a TCM physician if you require TCM consultation, herbal medication, and acupuncture related forms of TCM treatment.
You may opt to see a therapist if you prefer longer sessions of tuiNa massage therapy as part of your treatment plan.

All TCM physicians at Ma Kuang are Singapore registered TCM practitioners and acupuncturists. They are licensed by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners’ Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health and their registration details can be verified on the TCMPB website.

All our therapists are registered under the Massage Establishment license (regulated by the Singapore Police Force) and possess the required certification to carry out massage therapy in Singapore.

Ma Kuang currently has 2 different types of clinics: TCM medical clinic, Women’s and Children’s clinic.

Each type of clinic has its own independent patient system where your medical records are electronically and securely stored. If you consult a physician/therapist at the same clinic type, your previous records will be available for the physician/therapist to refer to.
To consult our TCM physicians at our general TCM medical clinics, no appointments are required.

To consult our TCM physicians at our Women’s and Children’s clinics, appointments are preferred. Kindly contact the branch directly to book your appointment.

To consult our therapists, appointments are compulsory. Kindly contact the branch directly to book your appointment. You may walk-in but kindly note that it will be subjected to availability of therapists and that priority will be given to customers with appointments.
Ma Kuang offers various promotions at different clinics throughout the year. Do follow our Facebook page for the latest updates.
We accept cash, NETS, VISA, MASTERCARD.
Unfortunately, private TCM institutions like Ma Kuang are not part of the CHAS scheme and are not applicable for government subsidies at the moment.
For most conditions, it is alright to receive both TCM treatment and western treatment simultaneously. You are advised to keep a 1-2 hours gap between the consumption of herbal medication and western medication.

However, as each individual is different, it would be most ideal to consult both the TCM physician and your western doctor for their opinions on the most appropriate treatment plan for your condition.
Stop your medication and consult your TCM physician. You may either call the clinic you had previously visited or contact the clinic which your physician is at on that day.

As each herbal prescription is customised according to the individual’s body constitution and medical condition, we will not be able to accept any returns/refund of herbal medication.
Acupuncture fees vary according to the complexity of the acupuncture treatment received, for instance single area acupuncture, double area acupuncture and multiple areas/whole body acupuncture.
You are highly encouraged to check with your insurer/company the TCM coverage and terms and conditions for reimbursement before receiving treatment at our clinics. All claims have to be submitted by the individual customer and Ma Kuang does not guarantee the success of reimbursement.

Kindly note that only TCM physicians are registered under the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB). Please inform our clinic assistant during registration if you require further advice and assistance.
According to the Ethical Codes and Guidelines for TCM Practitioners Section 4.1.2, TCM practitioners are required to keep proper and accurate medical records to ensure proper aftercare and service for their patients, which includes patient particulars for accurate identification. TCM clinics are also included under healthcare providers who are allowed to collect patients’ NRIC for the provision of medical services under the PDPA.
We do not have house/hospital visits at the moment.
Yes, if you wish to repeat your herbal medication, you may fill up the online medication delivery request form (kindly note that prescription is subjected to approval by your attending physician). There will be a delivery fee of $10.90 (incl. GST). Delivery orders will require 2-3 days processing time.
